Shipport 3D: Live World Constructor
SHIPPORT 3D: LIVE WORLD CONSTRUCTOR
Build the ship. Build the harbor. Build the settlement. Shape the world around them.
Shipport 3D is an evolving browser-based 3D world construction project combining modular shipbuilding, harbor construction, settlement building, resource systems and a growing simulated world.
The project is currently in active development.
Rather than building the game behind closed doors and revealing it only when it is finished, Shipport 3D is being developed as a living project. New systems, ships, buildings, tools, world features and improvements are added progressively as development continues.
⚓ BUILD MODULAR SHIPS
Shipport 3D includes a modular ship construction system designed around interchangeable components rather than fixed ship models.
The project currently revolves around three major ship-building libraries:
FRIGATE
Construct larger sailing vessels using modular hulls, bows, sterns, decks, masts, sails, rigging, equipment, cargo, weapons and decorative elements.
Available component families include:
• Multiple frigate hull types
• Standard, Clipper, Ornate and Ram bows
• Multiple stern configurations
• Main Deck, Quarterdeck and Forecastle structures
• Captain's Cabin
• Fore Mast, Main Mast and Mizzen
• Yards, topmasts and rigging
• Square sails, topsails, jibs and spankers
• Anchors, ladders and cargo equipment
• Barrels, crates, powder kegs and rope
• Naval cannons and cannon carriages
• Lifeboats
• Lanterns
• Figureheads and decorative elements
CARAVEL
Build lighter exploration and trading vessels with their own modular construction library.
Components include:
• Multiple hull configurations
• Standard, High and Ornate bows
• Multiple stern types
• Deck structures
• Sterncastle and Forecastle
• Cabins and hatches
• Fore, Main and Mizzen masts
• Square and Lateen sails
• Rigging
• Cargo equipment
• Barrels and crates
• Small cannons
• Rowboats
• Decorative prow elements
VIKING SHIP
Construct longships, raiders and cargo-oriented Norse vessels using a separate modular component system.
Components include:
• Standard Longship
• Raider Hull
• Cargo Knarr Hull
• Lightweight, Wide and War hulls
• Dragon, Serpent and Plain prows
• Multiple stern designs
• Deck and cargo platforms
• Crew benches
• Steering equipment
• Multiple mast configurations
• Square sails
• Oars and rowing equipment
• Round shields
• Spears and axe racks
• Cargo
• Fishing equipment
• Decorative Dragon, Wolf and Raven elements
Every ship is intended to become a construction rather than simply a model selected from a menu.
Choose a hull.
Change the bow.
Replace the stern.
Add decks.
Raise the masts.
Configure sails.
Add equipment.
Load cargo.
Arm the vessel.
Decorate it.
The constructor keeps track of the active modules and is designed to validate whether components belong to the selected vessel family while still leaving room for future custom configurations.
🏗 BUILD THE SETTLEMENT
Shipport 3D extends beyond ships.
The City Builder system allows the surrounding land to become part of the construction experience.
The expanding building system covers:
• Land construction
• Waterfront development
• Harbor placement
• Buildings
• Roads
• Resources
• Landscape elements
• People
• Jobs
• Production areas
Buildings can be positioned within the available construction area and rotated horizontally around the Y-axis, allowing settlements to develop organically instead of following a single fixed layout.
The usable inland construction area is being expanded as the world grows.
⛏ RESOURCES AND JOBS
The world is being developed around more than decorative buildings.
Resource and occupation systems are part of the expanding constructor.
Current development includes systems and content such as:
• Gold Mine
• Fisherman
• Resource locations
• Workers and jobs
• Harbor activity
• Production-oriented structures
These systems are foundations for a broader living settlement economy planned for later development.
🌊 BUILD BETWEEN LAND AND WATER
The harbor is the connection between the two major parts of Shipport 3D.
Construction is designed to work across:
• Inland terrain
• Coastlines
• Harbor areas
• Waterfront construction zones
• Water-based areas
Ships therefore exist as part of the world rather than inside an isolated ship editor.
🧭 A LIVING CONSTRUCTOR
Shipport 3D is being developed as a persistent construction experience where the world can continue expanding.
The long-term direction combines:
MODULAR SHIP CONSTRUCTION
+
CITY BUILDING
+
HARBOR DEVELOPMENT
+
RESOURCES
+
PEOPLE & JOBS
+
WORLD EXPANSION

• Better construction controls
• Improved world interaction
• UI and HUD improvements
• Performance optimization
• Visual improvements
• Additional gameplay loops
• Save/persistence improvements
• Testing across browsers and devices
• Continued QA and regression testing
Features may change, expand or be redesigned during development.
🤖 AI-ASSISTED DEVELOPMENT
Shipport 3D uses AI-assisted development tools as part of the production workflow.
AI is used to assist with areas such as development, prototyping, coding workflows, debugging, testing, documentation, experimentation and production iteration.
The project still requires continuous engineering, testing, design decisions, infrastructure, asset integration and human review.
Running an experimental project of this kind also creates recurring development costs.
☕ SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT
Shipport 3D can grow one small update at a time.
If you enjoy the idea and want to support development, optional contributions help cover recurring project costs including:
• AI API and agent usage
• Development tooling
• Cloud infrastructure
• Build and testing infrastructure
• Hosting
• 3D assets
• Storage and backups
• Development services
• QA and testing
• Ongoing world and gameplay development
You do not need to contribute to follow the project.
Even small contributions help fund another piece of development infrastructure, another test cycle, another asset or another round of AI-assisted engineering.
🌍 DEVELOPMENT PHILOSOPHY
Shipport 3D is being built in public.
That means development builds may contain unfinished systems, experimental mechanics, placeholder content, interface changes and occasional bugs.
That is part of the project.
Instead of pretending the world is finished, the goal is to let players watch it evolve.
Today there may be a harbor.
Tomorrow another building appears.
Then another ship component.
Another resource.
Another worker.
Another system.
Eventually those individual pieces become a world.
FOLLOW THE DEVELOPMENT
Follow Shipport 3D here on itch.io to receive development updates and new build announcements.
Comments, testing feedback and bug reports are welcome during development.
If you want to help the project financially, you can choose an optional contribution when supporting the project.
Build the ships.
Build the harbor.
Build the settlement.
Build the world.
